Captain John

A lifetime of fishing knowledge

Capt. John has a lifetime of fishing knowledge and over 18 years of experience fishing the gulf coast.
“I have enjoyed fishing all my life. While living in the Midwest, I fished Kentucky & Barkley Lake for years along with the Ohio River and many local waterways. My first passion was bass fishing but now I’ve got salt in my blood. I have over 45 years of fishing knowledge with inshore fishing along the gulf coast and have been guiding for the past 16 years. I was in the Marines and after that I decided to start a career as an inshore fishing captain.

The excitement of saltwater fishing is like nothing else. Hooking into monster Snook and pulling him out of the mangroves is a thrill you just have to experience. Or how about stalking redfish on the flats and sight casting to one watching him take your bait and setting the hook and hearing your drag scream like it’s going to end.  Fishing is my life, and I enjoy seeing my clients hook up on fish just as much as if I caught them myself. Depending upon what time of year it is, there is always some type of fish to be caught in the Tampa Bay – Tarpon Spring Area.  I look forward to meeting you and showing you how spectacular our Tampa Bay – Tarpon Springs Fishing can be.

My 2015 Triton is a fishing machine, I can ease into the shallow water flats in search of s Snook, Specks and reds, or out in Tampa Bay fishing for spanish mackerel, bluefish and much more. Whatever type of fishing you prefer artificial or live bait. My style of fishing is very similar to bass fishing, but you’re catching saltwater species! I have all the bell and whistles on this rig, two PowerPoles, State of the Art electronics, a Jack Plate to get skinny on days we need to. Minn Kota’s 112 Thrust 36 Volt I-Polit to hold position if were fishing reefs for Mangrove Snapper or what ever in Tampa Bay. Lastly, the work horse my 250 Mercury Verado that gets us to the fishing grounds quickly and home safely if inclement weather show s up.
